Samuel Kellum Post #2

I am currently on the second day of my internship and I have already learned so much. I sat in on a workshop where I learned strategies on how to be a good boss, leader, or manager. In addition, I was exposed to code used to run the company's website and its payment processing. The code was far too advanced for me to understand or give constructive criticism given my limited experience but I understood some aspects of it from my AP Computer Science class because the code was in JavaScript which is the same programming language used in my AP Computer Science class. I am looking forward to my internship experience beginning this Friday because I will no longer have to worry about AP exams. I feel like my experience would be tremendously improved if I could just focus on the internship without AP exams serving as a conflict. For example, I am missing two days this week because of AP exams. Senior exams and grades are finalized before the internship program begins in order for the students to focus on the internship experience. However, with AP exams, I am unable to focus entirely on my internship for most of the first week. I think that if internships began after AP exams, this problem would not exist but I know that this is an unrealistic possibility due to the timing of graduation and the predetermined dates of AP exams.
