So far this internship has been a great experience for me. I have learned many things in the real estate/ business world as well as the communication side of things. One thing that has surprised me is the amount of maintenance and repair work that needs to be done. When I first started, I expected that there would have to be the occasional fix on something in the building. However, during this first week, we have had to call in an AC man, as well as a plumber to fix two problems that we have had in the building. I did not expect this and I learned that most of the time it is not smooth sailing to run a commercial property. My favorite part about the internship so far is the interaction with the tenants. Every day, sometimes twice a day I put candy or chocolate outside in the lobby for the them. I have also had some come into the office for things they may need. In the picture, one of the tenants from the USDA came into our office. This internship has been a great experience for me up to this point.
