Gabriel Diaz Post #2
This week I started assisting on an assignment that is being conducted out of AEcom's Virginia office. The company is building a fueling station for an Air Force base in Qatar. I'm working with the project manager, who is based in New Orleans. The fueling station consists of five bulk storage tanks, four hot fuel loading arms to fuel the airplanes while they are running, and filters to purify the fuel from the trucks that provide it and from the tanks to the aircrafts. I'm beginning to learn a new software program called Revit (Autocad on steroids). Revit is a sophisticated 3D design program which produces 3D models. We will use these models to develop a package that will be given to a contractor in Qatar to build the fueling station. The project manager is actually not very familiar with Revit, so I will be passing on tips to use the software as I learn it. Next week I'll be learning actual construction management and I will be continuing my training. I'm having a great time.
