Mollye Varon post #4

I finished my internship learning about the janitorial aspect of the Ramelli Group. Rachel, Tommy, and I went on a morning walkthrough of the Hilton Riverside. I learned that Ramelli has supplied labor for the Riverside Hilton since it opened. Tommy walks really fast, and is hard to keep up with. Once I saw where the employees worked, the laundry rooms have a large scale iron that presses the sheets. Then I got to use all the staff elevators, which was a behind the scenes view of a hotel. Upon returning to the main office, Rachel and I worked on billing for hotels, such as: The Saint Hotel, Old 77, 4 Point Sheraton (in the French Quarter), and The Hyatt. Brenda is the executive assistant, and normally does the billing for janitorial. She was out this past week, so I got a chance to see her process. Rachel and her have totally different ways of attacking billing. I was using a program called Quick Books when I was working with Rachel’s billing, and Brenda uses excel and work records. Working with the Ramelli Group, I got to see the major aspects of their company. It has been a pleasure interning with this St. Martin’s alum and her family business.
