I chose an internship with AECom Inc., the largest engineering company in the world. As I was growing up my interest in how things work continue to grow, and I wonder if an engineering career will be the best for me. During this internship my time is divided in training and assisting a major project. So far the training courses I have participated in include circuits, fluids, and fundamentals of metals. It surprised me that things that I have always assume for facts actually weren't true when presented with physics and engineering knowledge. For example, people typically think of fluids as only liquids, but all gases are fluids and most substances can be a fluid with changes in temperature and pressure. Materials such as teflon is actually a fluid when it is exposed to pressure. In my next blog I'll described the project I am assisting on. It's very interesting!
Right up your alley, Gabe. Glad you're learning and enjoying the work.
