I am completing my senior internship at a data company in downtown New Orleans called Lucid. I chose to do my internship here because Bennett chose to work here and recommended that I do so as well since we are both interested in working with data, business, and programming. Bennett found out about interning for Lucid through his father who serves on the same board at St. Martin’s as the CEO of Lucid (Patrick Comer). On my first day, I was surprised about how easy it was to commute into downtown New Orleans because the traffic was extremely light. I arrived in the office and was greeted with a company laptop to utilize during this two week period (which I am currently using to compose this blog post) in addition to a generous gift bag consisting of a free notebook, t-shirt, and water bottle. The first thing Bennett and I did was listen to the same introductory presentation that new employees would receive from the human resources department. We felt very welcomed by the company and excited to begin the two week learning experience.
