Today, Friday, was not as busy of the rest of the week but still was very packed. The entire week had been busy due to the flooding over the weekend as well as several fires. In the morning I typed up  spreadsheets of properties belonging to an incoming client. I turned this into a property schedule which could then be submitted to the underwriters at an insurance carrier. This took the majority of the morning due to the volume of properties involved. After this I began scanning paperwork in the office and adding it to their database. Around noon my boss came by and brought me to lunch. We had lunch with a representative from an insurance carrier. It fascinated me how big lunch is in the business world. In the afternoon we did a site visit for a builders risk policy (picture below).While a building is under construction you still need to insure the materials being used and the cover liability for job site injuries. At the end of my first week, I have learned enough to feel comfortable in my internship.
