Farah Wells Post #4

The event yesterday was at Ralph Brennan's condo and I technically got to be Ishmael's supervisor, as he worked the event as a staff member, so that was a bit of fun. This was a big difference from the larger event at City Park with over 1,000 people to go to a BBQ with only 35 people. However, I think it would be overwhelming to go from one huge corporate event to the next. I have one more event on Friday that I am looking forward to, then my time as an intern will come to an end.

As this concludes my blog posts for this internship, I have nothing but great words to say. I am happy this internship worked out and I got to understand the management behind the catering and hospitality industry. I have spoken with and received advice from not only Ms. Lisa as Operations Manager but the Director of Sales, the Executive Chef, different staff members in the business and more. This experience has made me more confident in my aspirations to go into Event Planning, but I definitely need more perspective because the catering part is only one piece of a puzzle that goes into putting an event together. My interest in design has increased from this internship because I unfortunately only sat in on one meeting that concerned the decor of one event. So, I think that is my only wish concerning my time at Ralph Brennan's but I have no complaints and am extremely thankful for the experience.
