Anabella Imbornone Post #2

I really enjoyed my first week back at Kehoe in 5 years. It's really crazy seeing how different but also how similar the school is from when I was here. Especially being that now I'm viewing it from the teacher's perspective rather than a student's. The kids can't wrap their heads around the fact that they're teacher, Mrs. Linda, was also my first grade teacher, Mrs. Grush. (TBH I kinda can't either). I was talking to another 1st grade teacher who just started working here about how the school has changed and how it hasn't the other day at recess. The playground is exactly the same even down to the sand on the ground, but the classrooms and hallways are very different. The walls in the halls area all white instead of blue, theirs panel flooring instead of carpet and so much more. But I like how this week put everything into perspective for me. I'm even only allowed to use the faculty bathroom.. I guess that seem's like a given, but cmon that's crazy for me. I eat lunch every day with almost every lower school teacher I've had. There's so much more I could talk about and I could go on about it all day, really, but I won't. My least favorite part for sure is just STANDING there at recess and play time. My favorite is interacting with the kids and watching them have little successes because of me. Today was the last day of real class so they had their final tests: math and reading. I proctored them, here's a pic...
