Charley Leopold Blog post #3

Working at the capital is different everyday. Dorm days there’s protestors and leave groups expressing their personal views. Some days last from 8am-7:30pm to 9am-11am. I sit on the senate floor during session, which starts at different times everyday. Today we went into session for 2 and I’m actually blogging from session right now. The senators are presenting a bill to raise minimum wage for everyone in the state. The author, or the one presenting, of the bill is Senator Troy Carter who represents New Orleans. Also, today the senate paid respect to veterans families, they had a presentation with flags and bag pipes, proceeding that they released balloons off the capitals steps that represent the deceased army vets. There’s also been pro-choice advocates protesting all week on the capital steps. I’m thoroughly enjoying my time here, it’s not boring. There’s always something going on.
