Charley Leopold Blog Post #2

Working up here is different everyday. The legislature and senate are faced with new bills to help solve new problems in Louisiana everyday. Bills ranged from laws regarding Uber and transportation to laws dealing with abortion and capital punishment. Today the senate is bringing abortion to the floor, which brought along pro-life protesters who were yelling, or “protesting” in the chamber halls and painted themselves in red. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a picture with them. A lot of the interns days consist of sitting on the senate floor for hours at a time listening to bills being discussed and listening to farewell speeches given by senators whose term is up this year. Also, the cafe here has dank food. I had a good turkey Swiss melt sandwich today. Last night everyone congregated to the pentagon park across the street from the capital to celebrate those senators who presented their farewell speech that day.
