I am doing my senior internship with David Gindin. He is the owner of a micro hotel on St. Charles called The Quisby. I wanted to do my internship with him because he graduated from NYU and because I am going to study business/finance in college, I want to get an understanding of how an actual business operates. On my first day, Mr. David showed me his everyday operations. The hotel bar asks their guest to draw any form of art on a napkin and hang it near the bar. My first job for the day was to take all the drawings and turn them into digital copies so they can be displayed on the hotel's website for marketing and advertisement. My next task was to take inventory of all the emergency supplies that they keep in the back. I cataloged and sorted all the boxes. I then helped the housekeepers stock the rooms up with towels and other necessities that the guests might need. I enjoyed my first day and I'm excited to go back to learn more in-depth operations of the business.
