I have chosen to intern with Ray Chatagnier, owner of RMC Construction. I chose this job because construction is a very lucrative business and one that I grew up around. To say the least, I'm fairly familiar with the field already and I wanted to gain more insight on how to run a construction company and what the job entails. Most of our time is spent visiting the various job sites (approximately 10), and making sure everything is run according to plan or to problem solve where need be. Most of what Ray does is consulting with clients and developing a relationship to make them feel as comfortable as possible and that their most prized possession has been placed in the right hands. As the owner of a construction company, there are a lot of factors that Ray has to take into account that a lot of clients, employees, and other individuals would deem miniscule. From interning with Ray, I've gained a broader knowledge of patience, communicating skills, and people management.
