During my internship at Offbeat Magazine, I am learning what I thought I would, which is how to work in media publications. Specifically today, in addition to continuing to enter subscriber information into the Offbeat database so that people may receive a weekly news letter, I pitched a list of prospective businesses in the Greater New Orleans area that may be interested in advertising in Offbeat's June food issue to my sponsor. Today, I will continue searching for possible advertisers by calling businesses and inquiring about their interest in being a client at Offbeat. I'd like to learn more about some other jobs at Offbeat, including what it is like to be a staff writer and an editor of the magazine. I look forward to learning these things as my internship continues. I also look forward to continue establishing connections at Offbeat so that in the future, in college for example, I may be able to work with them again.
