Yesterday I started my internship with Mrs. Lyn Halloran for New Orleans & Co. When I first got to the office, she showed me around the building and eventually showed me to where I'd be worked, which is with the department of external affairs. New Orleans & Co. (also known as New Orleans Convention and Visitor's Bureau) is in charge of all of the tourism businesses in New Orleans, and is behind every festival/event in the city. She explained how far in advance they have to plan future events like Jazz Fest, and what goes into planning them. Yesterday, I spent most of my time helping Mrs. Halloran prepare for the Goodwill Jobs Fair thats happening out in Behrman Park on Wednesday. I compiled different pamphlets and forms for the employers, as well as contacted the park to confirm the event's location. I also emailed the rental company to rent more tables and chairs for the event.
Wow! Look like you've been busy. I'm so glad this internship worked out at the last minute.
