Throughout these last few days I’ve watched how to complete
a death claim. You have to figure out the beneficiary then do lots of paperwork
to decide whether the beneficiary wants to “surrender” the money or keep it.
Most people “surrender” an account when the company gives them more money than
before, but if the amount stays the same then they will keep it. A big thing
I’ve learned is how to be personable. At the office they send out handwritten
birthday cards and all kinds of newsletters to each of their clients. I feel
like it really makes a big difference to them. Each person in the office signs the card, which really makes the client feel appreciated because everyone took the time to sign it. Although I’m still not sure what
I want to do as a future job, this internship has given me lots of insight
about the working world. I’ve always imagined how it would be to get up and go
to an office everyday, and that’s what I’ve done everyday. I’ve learned so many
new financial terms and tasks over my time here. I’m so grateful to have experienced what the
working world is like; I will always remember what this internship has taught
me.
