This week I’ve started learning new things other than
secretarial tasks. I’m so glad I learned how to do all of the technical things
but its so interesting now to learn about stocks and bonds. I’ve learned about
bonds and why the stock market goes up and down (especially about when it went
down this past December). I’ve learned
about why the company buys certain stocks for a client and the different types
that you can either buy, from 8:30-3:00 or on the spot. I’ve also learned about
Social Security and 401K’s. I’ve learned about marketing and how the business
sends out newsletters for special holidays (they sent one out for memorial day
coming up). I’ve also spent time removing closed files from the filing cabinet.
My least favorite thing is definitely filing. It’s an important job, but
sorting a giant stack of papers isn’t super interesting. I’ve also been making
booklets that are given to each new client. I love all of the different types
of things I’ve been learning, and I’m so excited to learn more over these last
few days
