Through out the rest of the week at Ross David Retina clinic, I continued to shadow Dr. Davis. I learned about many different diseases in the eye that could cause retinal damage. Some diseases include: retinal tears, retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes, and macular degeneration. Some of these diseases are treated with injections, or both injections and laser eye surgery. Most patients that come in at over 60 years old, but there have occasionally been patients of age younger than 60. I also filed the employees personal folders, and scanned quite a bit of documents into the clinic’s computer system. And, some of the dictor’s techs taught me how to correctly work the complicated camera to take pictures of the back of patients’ eyes as well as use the equipment Dr. Davis and Ross use to examine patients eyes.
