Gabriel Diaz Post #3
This week I started learning new lessons all related to electrical and civil engineering. In the civil engineering field the two major lessons I was involved were deterioration of concrete and pavement design for roads, streets, walks, and open storage areas. The purpose of learning about this two lessons is to understand the function and the different additives of concrete. I apply all this knowledge to the requirements of the Air Force base project I'm participating in. Concrete is a big deal in this type of projects because of all the factors you need to consider. For this projects different additives are put in the concrete; they need to handle temperature since the location of the Air Force is on a desert at Qatar plus the different weights of transport and machinery. I never thought that something simple as concrete was actually so complex and had so many functions. During this week I will learn more about electricity and how to apply to the project. Looking forward to it.
