Alec Ricci Post #2
On Wednesday, The Supreme Court of Louisiana held a court regarding a criminal case. I had the honor of being invited to spectate the case in person while it was in session. Unfortunately, I had to be at school to take an AP Economics exam so I was given the day off. The next day, I was given a complete transcript of the case. I was allowed to read the transcript in full and discuss the facts of the case with other participants of the case. I was even able to see some of the actual evidence used in the court. This was my first time seeing and reading anything to do with a criminal court case. I was also given explanations as to how punishment is determined and what the sort of “rules” are in the criminal court. This was such a different and new experience for me. For me, this was experience and insight into a field of law that I previously had no knowledge about.
