During my second week, I continued following Taylor around and meeting all her patients. She had two dentals, where they put the dog/cat under anesthesia, and basically pull out it’s big teeth ( kind of like wisdom teeth extraction.) It was kind of funny seeing these animals loopy with their tongues hanging so far out their mouth. She also recently found three, two week old kittens, which she was fostering in the vet. I wasn’t allowed to touch them because they were infested with lice. One of my favorite things to do is to go in the boarding area and just look at all the cats and dogs. They’re all so different and each has their own personality. Some dogs never stop barking, and some dogs sleep the entire time. Nevertheless, I love going in there and seeing the dogs then coming in the next day and seeing all the new ones. If you couldn’t tell by now, I’m very much a dog person. I also noticed that Taylor, the Doctor I’m interning with, has a very strong work ethic. She comes back early from her lunch break, always remains on task, and goes above and beyond for her patients. Because Taylor never takes a break and has been terribly busy,I felt it inappropriate of me to ask for a picture, so I took a few pictures.
