Yesterday I started my Internship with a woman named Vicki
Tramonte, who is an office manager for a financial company. The first thing I
did was sign some documents that explained what legal things were expected of
me to do/not do. At the office I have my own cubicle, where I file and
alphabetize papers. As the day progressed Mrs. Vicki showed me exactly what she
does as office manager. She showed me how she does the payroll, writes checks,
oversees all of the expenses and many more things. I knew Mrs. Vicki had a hard
job before this internship, but I didn’t realize how much she has to multitask
between her work, watching over everyone else, and answering the phone. So far
I’ve really enjoyed my internship, I’ve learned some crucial secretarial tasks.
I really like the fact that everything in the office is very organized and has
its own purpose. I chose this internship because I’m not exactly sure what I
want to do as a future job. I knew that coming to an office I would learn crucial
skills that would help me at any job. I’m so excited to see how much more I
learn over the next week and a half.
How fun to see behind the scenes of how an office is run, and how much work it is. I'm glad to hear that you are liking it and learning valuable skills.
