Barret Shepherd post #1
I have chosen to do my internship with Kyle's dad, Kyle Winkler II. Mr. Kyle runs his own reception hall called Trinity Banquets and Receptions. Mr. Kyle host things like weddings, parties, banquets, and other various receptions. There is a lot of work that goes into doing what he does. This particular job involves a pre-planed work ethic and team work. Accounting for what the guest wants is one of the number one priorities. If the guest is not satisfied then you did not do a good job. Taking care of their vision of what they would like and accommodating them with things like decoration, placement, entertainment, and food all go in to making your guest feel like they spent their money well. Today, Mr. Kyle and I went to the bank to go put down future payments with a new client. Having gone through the process of working with a client, one in this job must be well organized in placing down availability and dates showing that your business is well put together. Discussing things like prices are actually harder then it sounds considering that there are all kinds of details but over all I enjoyed this experience. Seeing and helping a couple plan one of the best days of their lives and making a dream come true makes me feel happy.

It's interesting to learn about how many details go into planning an event. Sounds like you're getting good on-the-job training, Barret.
